Remeber...

If anyone is interested in donating for the fund for Keegan please email ellihugh@gmail.com for further information on how to donate.

For those who were not able to make it to the ceremony, it was an amazing spirit.
Our souls were sweetened by the presence of the spirit. Jason and Katy were embraced by many in love and support. Through the voice of many, the spirit testified of the beauty of the eternal life and that families can be together forever when we strive to use the atonement. The spirit testified that Keegan was to have a swift return to Heavenly Father for a greater purpose. The spirit testified that Keegan was a special spirit sent to earth to bless the lives of many. We were reminded of Joseph Smith and thanked him for enduring his similar trials with faith- his example gives us hope and comfort as we greive and mourn over a similar loss and as we strive for understanding of the things we do not know.

On a personal side note, may we remember. May we remember the spirit we felt at the services. May we remember the individual lesson that Keegan taught each one of us. May we remember to live life a little sweeter, love one another with greater compassion. May we remember our plan here on earth and to live it to our greatest potential, just as Keegan has done. May we remeber that we have a Savior who loves us enough to provide a way for us to change from imperfection into perfection. May we remember Keegan, so whenever we think of Keegan the spirit can warm our hearts by testifying the truths of eternal life and salvation. Thank you Keegan, we will Remember you!

As this site is deciated to Keegan, please feel free to share your remebrance of Keegan.

A tribute to the one of the most faithful...

Many were taken back by the passing yesterday of Keegan Jay Watson. A blood clot in Keegan’s brain was found yesterday via ultrasound and the prognosis was poor. Keegan passed yesterday in the arms of his two loving parents. Born on December 29, 2008 from January 3, 2009, during the short 5 days he lived, he was loved so deeply. There is talk of a funeral service that will be held on Tuesday. A final update on the time and place will be posted at the wish of the parents. Please keep Jason and Katy in your prayers during this time of difficulty.

The love of two amazing parents

Katy and Jason are so strong! Keegan is so very lucky to have two parents who love him so much and who have such high hopes for him in times of challenge.

Last night Keegan's face was very swollen. He's not urinating enough. He needs to be urinating 2.5 mL every hour, he's only peeing 0.6 mL. If the fluid doesn't go out it stays in and ends up in feet, hands and in Keegan's case his face. Because of all the fluid that he is retaining, he was started on a lasix drip-lasix is a drug that helps the kidneys get rid of fluid. As grandpa Ken said last night, pray for pee! Keegan also under went surgery yesterday to have a picc line in place. This picc line will allow long term access (most likely months) to his veins for his IV medications. Do not under estimate the PICC line, this is how keegan gets his food- a solution known as TPN is made of everything Keegan needs to grow, this TPN goes through the PICC line and into the vein. The nurses are so tender with him, are so positive and are so patient with all of us as we ask a billion questions.

So blessed....

In The Waiting room....

Keegan Jay Watson was born on December 29, 2008. 9lbs 14oz. by emergency c-section at the Utah Valley Hopsital. Keegan had a big fan club full of family and friends very eager to welcome him into the world. Though none of his fans had yet seen Keegan, the love for Keegan that filled the waiting room could have cured world hunger. As everyone waited to give Keegan hugs and kisses the doctors news kept everyone on their toes.. Keegan was in critical condition. He wasn't breathing well, and his heart wasn't contracting strong enough. The culprit was likely a virus that Keegan was exposed to in the womb known as cytomegalovirus.

Living in a Techonologically advanced world...

Keegan was taken immediately from the womb and transferred to the NICU. He was put on a ventilator (breathing machine) and was being watched very closely. Keegan was very fortunate to receive a preisthood blessing of health from grandpa Ken. Many of the NICU staff hoovered around listening intently and performing very carefully the doctors orders. The doctors at Utah Valley felt they didn't have the technology they needed to take care of him. With in 20 min's a life flight team arrived to care for Keegan. The doctor from the life flight team was able to drain fluid off his belly and chest, once that happened Keegan's Oxygen levels increase-a very good sigh. After the team stabilized him, Keegan was life flighted to one of the worlds best children hospitals, right here in Salt Lake City...Primary Children's Medical Center (PCMS). Keegan is currently in PCMC in the NICU. Keegan is very loved by many people who are desperately waiting and yearning for a swift recovery.

A wake up call...

Many babies are born with no complications, and very few are born with great physical, even life threatning challenges. It's times like these that make many so greatful for the gospel! It's times like these that try the faith of many! The attonement is real, and it is times like these that we can use the atonement to change our worry into comfort, and our sorrow into joy. It's times like these when we can turn to the savior.

What's next...

Please keep baby Keegan in your prayers. Also keep Jason and Katy in your prayers that they may feel the power of the comforter everyday. We all love you, Jason, Katy and Keegan- I feel it safe to say that we all feel truly blessed to have all three of you in our lives!
